AVHÄRDNING I FLUIDISERAD BÄDD / Softening in Fluidized Bed
The copper corrosion in the distrubution net ofdrinking waters with high hardness and high alcalinity, i.e. an aggressive water, poses a problem in the sewage water treatments planrs due to a high content of copper in the sludge.
Correct pH and carbondioxide content will reduce the aggressiveness of the water and heavily reduce the copper corrosion. The corrosiveness of copper increases with low pH values, high alcalinity and a high sulphate content in the water. When reducing the calcium conrent an indirect reduction ofthe corrosiveness, by the higher equilibrium is reached. The higher equilibrium pH is due to the lowered alcalinity. “Complete abstract not presented.”
