BERÄKNING AV AVRINNING OCH KVÄVELÄCKAGE FRÅN ETT VATTENDRAG MED OLIKA MARKANVÄNDNING / Modelling of Runoff and Nitrogen Leaching from a Basin with Different Land Use
A conceptual model for simultaneous computation of runoff and inorganic leaching from forests, arable lands and lakes has been developed and tested. The model has been verified against data from the Ekenäs area in the county of Södermanland in SE Sweden. The aim is to develop a model which includes the most important factors controlling nitrogen leaching and is at the same time easy to apply to areas with normal data coverage. The model which is developed from the PULSE hydrological model, has to be calibrated against an observed record of nitrogen concentrations in the specific river system. It was found that the impact of the lakes in this area is great on the inorganic nitrogen transport. The lakes cause a damping and smoothing of runoff and nitrogen concentrations, and uptake of inorganic nitrogen and sedimentation reduces concentrations significantly in summer.
