DIMENSIONERING AV PERKOLATIONSMAGASIN MED REGNENVELOPPMETODEN OCH MAXDYGNSMETODEN, Design of Percolation Basins with a Rain Envelope Method and the Max Day Method
The aim of the study has been to test the applicability of the so called Rain Envelope Method and the Max Day Method, respectively, for design of percolation basins. For a given depth the basin volume has to be designed to meet a certain required frequency of flooding. Flooding is defined as one or more overflows within a period of 48 h. The basin was designed according to the Rain Envelope Method assuming that the outflow envelope could be constructed by using the mean value of the outflow capacity. The real frequency of flooding was estimated by a continuous simulation of storage and outflow for a historical 18-year rainfall series by means of a specially developed computer program. The inflow hydrograph was assumed to have the same shape as the rainfall hyetograph. “Complete abstract not presented.”
