ETT OPERATIVSYSTEM FÖR MILJÖKONSEKVENSANALYS FÖR AKVATISKA EKOSYSTEM, An Operative System for Environmental Consequence Analysis for Aquatic Ecosystems
The intention with this paper is to present one type of operative system for environmental consequence analysis (ECA) for natural aquatic ecosystems, i.e. lakes, rivers and marine areas. The operative system consists of two parts: (1) a ”note system” for ECA, i.e., the scientific framework and concepts and (2) the ”instruments”, i.e., the tools which concern the practical handling of the scientific concepts which are today being developed in the flexible and user-friendly programme language HyperCard. The operative system is based on a number of fundamental concepts (effect, dose, sensitivity, area and time compatibility, mesocosm tests, ecometric analysis, etc.) which have approximately the same relationship to ECA as letters have to language. The operative system should be an aid in answering the basic question concerning the most probable ecological effect, from a given dose/load in a given lake/recipient. The intention is that the user can find his way through a system where a definitive answer to the basic question can be found at the end. “Complete abstract not presented.”
