INTERKALIBRERING AF MIKROBIOLOGISKE VANDANALYSER I DANMARK, Intercalibration of Microbiological Analyses in Denmark
In Denmark, as in other countries, the need for supervision and control with the water pollution is increasing. Microbiological and chemical water analyses are an important tool for this control. However, the condition for using the results of these analyses is a good and reliable quality of the analyses. In Denmark an important part of the protection of quality is intercalibrations where the laboratories, which are part of the public environmental control, analyse in principle identical samples. Below are described a number of activities within the microbiological water analyses carried out in 1984 to 1986. With a specific intercalibration as starting point, statistical methods of determining the general quality of analyses are described. Furthermore, it is exemplified how a detailed statistical analysis can contribute to point out where improvement of the quality is necessary.
