ÖRESUNDSVERKET – INFLÖDET / Öresundsverket – the Inflow
Ever since the reconstruction of Öresundsverket in Helsingborg was finished in the beginning of 1992 an extensive and regular sampling from the inflow has been carried out. This work has increased the understanding of what variations affecting the outcome of the waste water treatment. The aim of this article is to how how the characterization of the inflow was made, with respect both to frequency and parameters, and furthermore to report on results and conclusions. Flow and temperature show a marked variation over the year, usually with high flow coinciding with low temperature and vice versa. This gives critical periods for the biological processes of the treatment plant, and in practice it may imply that the plant must be operated in different ways during different seasons.
