ÖVERSIKTLIG VATTENRESURSRÄKENSKAP FÖR MOTALA STRÖMS FLODOMRÅDE – ETT FÖRSÖK TILL REGIONAL PROFILERING / Regional Pattern of Macro-scale Water Supply/Demand Profiles in Motala River Basin- A Hydrological Study
Macro-scale water supply/demand profiles are presented for thirteen subunits of Motala river basin in south-central Sweden. The renewable water supply of each subunit is composed of exogenous inflow from the neighbouring upstream subunit, and endogenous flow production in the unit itself. The latter contains hydrochemically different water fractions, mixing in the river and emanating from precipitation over different categories of land: recharge areas, discharge areas and water areas. The method visualizes differences in the distribution of water between different use categories. The visualization method is prepared for use in coordinated land/water planning by including also precipitation and water evaporated in plant production in the overall water budget. Land use changes expected to redistribute the precipitation can then be taken into account.
