SEPTAGE MANAGEMENT USING MOBILE DEWATERING TRUCKS
The mobile septage dewatering trucks are a new alternative to the more common practice for septage handling. The greatest advantage of the system is that the septage is treated at the point of production to the degree that it can be delivered directly to local farmers. Two systems are evaluated; Hamstern by the Mattsson Group in Sweden and MOOS KSA by Simon Moos A/S in Denmark. The evaluation is based on examination of previous test reports, interviews with several users of the mobile systems and discussions on design, product quality and field experience with the manufacturers. In addition a cost analysis has been performed to compare the mobile dewatering systems with conventional septage handling at sewage treatment plants or separate dewatering stations.
