UDBYGNING – BLA VED RENSNING AF REJEKTVANDET – AF FREDERIKSHAVN KOMMUNES CENTRALRENSEANLÆG / Extension – Including Reject Water Treatment – of the Municipal Sewage Treatment Plant of Frederikshavn
In June 1990 the Municipality of Frederikshavn inaugurated the world’s first full-scale plant for chemical-physical treatment of the reject water. After a working period of more than a year with adjustments and corrections the plant is working very satisfactorily, and together with the planned installation of the French developed BIOSTYR system the reject water treatment leads to a reduction of the investment to approx 50 % of the investment calculated to be involved by a conventional extension of the municipal sewage treatment plant of Frederikshavn. The cost of operation, incl capital costs, by a conventional nitrogen reduction is calculated to be DKK 53,- per kg nitrogen removed per year. By the reject water treatment the corresponding cost has been registered to be DKK 18,50 per kg nitrogen removed per year.
