VATTENFÖRINGSBERÄKNINGAR I RECIPIENTKONTROLLPUNKTER – EN UTVÄRDERING AV PULS-MODELLEN / Runoff Calculations in Ungauged Catchments An Evaluation of the Pulse Model
To estimate the transport of different substances in streams and rivers, continuous series of runoff data are required. However, for most points where hydrochemistry is monitored, there are no adjacent discharge stations. As an alternative, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute has since 1986 used the PULSE model, a conceptual runoff model, to produce the required data for a great number of catchments in the southern part of Sweden. An evaluation has now been made in order to get an overall picture of the accuracy of the calculations. The evaluation is based on comparisons between observed and computed monthly data for catchments with discharge stations. The differences between observed and computed values have been averaged countywise, and statistically analysed. In this paper the results for the county of Skaraborg are given. “Complete abstract not presented.”
