VATTENVÅRD ÅR 2000: BEHOVET AV HYDROLOGISK INFORMATION, Water Management in the Year of 2000: The Need of Hydrological Information
Due to more complicated pollution situations future water management needs more reliable data on transport of pollutants from a variety of sources – both from external sources (air, land, waste water etc.) and from internal sources (e g regeneration from sediments). A common base for estimates of pollution inputs from these sources is different types of hydrological information. Unfortunately such data is often sparse when decisions are taken on permission of effluent discharges, on water protection efforts or as a base for land use and water planning. It is therefore a growing concern for an expanded network of sampling stations for atmospheric deposition and water flow as well as better insights of water exchange patterns in lakes, estuaries and coastal areas. However, all information on water quantity and water quality must be systematically handled in data systems to enable a high availability. “Complete abstract not presented.”
